Jazz Fest is what the infectious Dumpstaphunk was created for — literally, in 2003. So they set up at the Gentilly Stage this afternoon (May 3) — some nine years on — with full knowledge of how to squeeze a full show’s worth of funk into an abbreviated slot. And that’s what the band — one of the city’s pre-eminent funk ensembles — did.”
